Is Wizard101 worth playing in 2017?

Before you consider whether or not you should play Wizard101,

COST TO PLAY:

Just like what the official Wizard101 website says, playing Wizard101 is ABSOLUTELY FREE TO PLAY [the beginning portion of the first world that is].

Playing solely the free stuff, you will probably spend a few hours maximum completing some of the quests before you either
  1. re-fight the bosses or mobs because you ran out of quests to complete
  2. are unable to complete your quest because you don't have access to the areas
  3. randomly hanging out somewhere in the Spiral.
By the time you finish sightseeing, you will probably only be level 12 out of 120 levels.

You can buy areas permanently for crowns or buy membership for temporary access to everything!

Let's face it.  You need money to play this game.

Is there a way to get free crowns?

Yes, there is.  You can get 10 crowns each from doing Wizard101 Trivia, Earn Crowns, or Daily Assignments.

Is there a way to get more than just 10 crowns at a time for free?

Fan-site contests and monthly KI Live.

Is there a way to get free membership?

No.

CHAT FILTER:

If you are younger than 13 and do not make a credit card purchase, you are only allowed to chat using phrases from the menu.
If you are 13 or older, you are not allowed to say numbers, anything that's not English, and basically anything considered bad.
If you are 18 or older AND make a credit card purchase, you still can't say anything bad.

GRAPHICS:

Graphics are important to love because you're going to spend a majority of your duels watching spell animations!!!!! Over and over and over and over and over and over and.... over.
